A Few of My Favorite Things: Part I "Around the House"

I've been wanting to do this post for quite a while now. I just think it's fun to remember a few of my favorite things. These are things in my house that when I look at them they make me smile!
Peanut M&M's-I can't stop eating them. I finally put them in a zip-lock baggy hoping that making them more difficult to get into would keep me from eating them every time I opened the fridge!
My sister painted this for Bailey for Christmas. She found this image online and there was a third cow in the middle instead of the tractor- she added the tractor just for Bailey! I think it's absolutely incredible!
My new vacuum cleaner!
My neighbor introduced me to this product when I was telling her about these "mystery" stains that kept appearing on our carpets. It works wonderfully! I'm pretty sure there's a little bit of magic mixed into every box!
This is probably the best deal we have in our home: originally priced $900. On clearance at Lowe's for $748 because someone had bought the matching dryer. We had a 30% of any appliance card then we opened up a Lowe's card and got 10% our purchase. You do the math but we ended up paying $432 for this washer! I love it!
My mom bought me this apron and I love it b/c it's very feminine. I think it needs a monogram on the upper front part. What do you think?
This fish was painted by our friends mother, Patti Frierson. I think it's wonderful!
These were both wedding presents from different people. I love pottery:)
Jesse made us this table. I think he did an amazing job!
ditto on the backsplash!
a friend of mine gave me this card. It was made out of banana peel fibers by Haitians.
Birthday flowers from my mom!
My Jenn-Aire dishwasher. I love countless things about this dishwasher. I could be a spokesperson for this dishwasher! If you ever come over, I'll be happy to show you all the things I love about it!!
Ditto on my refrigerator.
This is a down throw that my mother-in-law gave us. I love it! It's the perfect size and look how big and fluffy!
This necklace originally belonged to my friend, Esty Downes:) When I saw her wearing it, I commented on how lovely it was. A few days later it showed up in an envelope at my house. When I called to thank her for the gift she said that she never wanted "things" to mean more to her than people did. I thought that was a wonderful idea. Thanks, Esty!
This painting of Pawley's Island was done by Marie Clapp who is Melinda Ellis' mother. The Ellis' gave us the painting as a wedding present. I love it:)
These are our bedroom curtains, made by my mother-in-law. The fabric is from Restoration Hardware. We purchased it for $5/yd.(originally $20/yd) at a fabric store that was going out of business.
This is my burlap bed skirt that I made. When Jesse first saw it he said, "wow! now that's what I've always wanted in a bed skirt." ...and he was totally serious! Someday I plan to actually sew it on; right now it's just shoved under the mattress.

I LOVE this post!! You have a gift for surrounding yourself with things that reflect your wonderful personality. I love how the things that you mentioned usually have meaning because of a person. So great!
